Title: Status of Bridge Question
Post by: RuanofWinter on April 30, 2010, 12:55:32 AM
Hello I've been using SMF for a while, and I'm looking to do some bridging, and after having read some old forum threads on here, and being rather confused by a lot of seemingly legacy information, I was wondering if anyone team or otherwise could comment on this:

extensions.joomla.org/extensions/bridges/forum-bridges/11442  SMF/Joomla Bridge

I was wondering because I know there have been legal concerns in the past but I'm interested in using this, if the SMF team has no legal issue with it. In the case that they do, I wanted to avoid using it with their software.

Thoughts?

The only problem I can see with SMF off-hand is their use of the SMF logo.  It's trademarked, and shouldn't be used by them without permission.

All licensing issues between SMF and Joomla are Joomla's concern, really.  As long as they aren't violating SMF's license, there is no concern here.  Violations of Joomla's interpretation of the GPL are Joomla's concern, not SMF's.
