I enabled the Newsletter function for a specific membergroup on my board. However, I realized that when they send a newsletter, the email address that it comes from is the forum administrator's email. Is there a function or a mod available so that members can email specific membergroups and have their email address of record show?

No, haven't seen it. The newsletter option always uses the webmasters or forum emailaddress, which actually makes sense since the newsletter is send by the forum.
You might want to request this in the Mod Requests (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=79.0) board.
