I tried to use SMF gallery and everytime I install the mod I get to Gallery links
in the main menu bar so I un-install and tried again and still 2 links in the main
bar. How can I get a fresh install ? What code do I need to remove ?

In index.template.php of the themes/default just remove the SMF Gallery button code.
