Post by: An0nymousHelper on January 01, 2011, 07:50:47 PM
Hey everyone, i really need help fast! Ok so i was adding a new RSS feed too my forum (forums on 1.1.11) and then when the page refreshed it gives me an error that says this:

An Error Has Occurred!
Board structure corrupt: unable to find parent board

Now my whole board is down and i can't access the admin panel or anything! I have too get my site back up asap, ok so i seen somewhere i need to use something called "PhpMyAdmin". My hosting service is GoDaddy so i went and signed in there and went too the hosting dashboard then MySQL then it allows me too sign into PhpMyAdmin BUT when i try too sign in i get an error

1045 access denied for user 'root@localhost' using password yes

I am putting in the correct name and password but it will not let me in. I have to get my forums back up and running fast! Please someone help me!

Thanks very much in advance if anyone will help me out!

Your whole forum seems messed up even the theme.

Board structure corrupt:
Your files or a database has been corrupted trying asking your web hosting for a backup.

Have you made any edits to a file / added new modifications etc?
Is your host GoDaddy? You should contact them saying you cannot access your forum board.

Yes i am with godaddy, and no i have not installed any new mods, like i did a few hours ago but they worked fine. It was just when i entered a new RSS feed. :(

Well to be honest your best bet is contacting your host tell them if there's a backup database on your hosting account ;).

What do you mean by this? I had a mod installed (RSS Feed Poster) and works great i've had for a couple days but i wanted too add a new feed and right after i did that it all went down hill :(

Ok, then maybe the mod author can help out. It seems it is the mod that is causing the problem. repair_settings will not help with this. Plus it must be uploaded before you use it.

The RSS Modification must have a major bug.

Your best bet now is to reply to the Modification topic or PM the owner of the Modification.
Sorry :(.

FTP meaning your Control Panel. or Filezilla :).

Look in your folder directory.

/public_html/forums/Packages/
Your RSS Modification should be placed in there have a look at the permissions on the right of the folder ;).

Try making the Modification permission 777 ;)
See how that goes.
Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: Bigguy on January 01, 2011, 09:25:42 PM
There will be different permissions for files then there are for folders. I would ask your host what each should be.

Not for that modification just ask what the permissions are supposed to be for files and folders.

ok, so i guess there is no way for me just to restore it then? I have a restore point that i made (about 10 days ago) it's .sql one that i got not from GoDaddy but from the admin panel on smf. If i go through PhpMyAdmin i get an error every time i try and import it :( I just need this forum up very fast.

Hmm i think i'm doing it correct i read that post with the tutorial, You just sign into the Phpmyadmin and then click on your database then click Import and select the .sql file correct? I did see part saying to create a new database but thats just if you dont have one already right? (i obviously have one)

anyways here a pic

Should i delete the database that the forum is on right now and create a new one with the same name then import the .sql backup into it? Or will i loose everything?
Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: Bigguy on January 01, 2011, 10:17:44 PM
If you create a new database then drop all the tables in it then import your old database that should work or you could delete the smf_log_search_subjects from the .sql file and try uploading it again. I do it that way when I get an error like that. You would need a program that will open .sql files. Something like php designer or notepad ++ would work.
Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: Bigguy on January 01, 2011, 10:18:32 PM
If you delete entries from the .sql file make sure you keep a copy of the original .sql backup file so you have it if it does not work. :)
Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: An0nymousHelper on January 01, 2011, 10:23:17 PM
Im not sure how to "drop all the tables in the new data base lol, so i think ill try and delete the smf_log_search_subjects from the .sql file and see if i can figure that out ;) wish me luck lol

Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: Bigguy on January 01, 2011, 10:24:25 PM
Good luck. It's not that hard and as far as I know that part is really not needed in the backup anyway. The forum should still function fine for you. :)

oh 1 thing i have a backup from about 10 days ago so it wont have all the newest thing but its ok as long as i get the forums up. That back up is a Complete back up, i have another backup from earlier on today but its not the full complete backup. Like when in the admin panel if you go to ( i forget what the full thing is called as i cant look back, im doing this from memory) but you go to where you can click Backup there is a checkbox that says something and then "the important stuff" the backup that i have from earlier on today has just that one and the backup from about 10 days ago has all check boxes checked off and it has Complete in the file name. I hope you understand what i'm trying to say lol i no i say it in sort of a confusing way, sorry :)

Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: Bigguy on January 01, 2011, 10:35:52 PM
Do they both produce errors ??? If so I guess it really doesn't matter if your going to alter the .sql file.
Title: Re: Please Help Fast!
Post by: An0nymousHelper on January 01, 2011, 10:39:03 PM
Yeah both have errors, I opened both of them and went Find and then smf_log_search_subjects only 1 of them have that line though (the newer one) so heres where i am a little confused on what to do. It has 3 of though's lines i just don't no what to delete lol.. I'm very close to finishing this though so if you could help me out here i would appreciate it very much :)

Yes, do you have aim or msn so we can talk (much easier that the forum lol) or even better if u feel like helping out do you have TeamViewer? Basically it runs my desktop on urs so you can do it and i can watch what ur doing so that i no for future reference :) if not ill just upload it for you

Yes that is right. We have a backup of it so no worries. This is probably the reason it was showing duplicate entries because it was trying to import a backup of the same thing so it was saying that it found duplicate content.

This problem is solved after much playing around. The problem was the RSS feed poster mod. What I had to do was edit the index.php file that is in the root of the SMF install. I had to remove code from that file that the mod had placed there. This is what I took out:

        // RSS Feed Poster run fake cron job
        if (!empty($modSettings['rss_fakecron']))
        {

            if (empty($modSettings['rss_lastcron']) || $modSettings['rss_lastcron'] + (1 * 60) > time())
            {
                require_once($sourcedir . '/Subs-RSS.php');
                UpdateRSSFeedBots();
                updateSettings(array('rss_lastcron' => time()));
            }

        }

I made a backup of the file I edited and left it in the root of your SMF install. Right now your RSS feed poster mod will not work. If you try to uninstall it and it errors on the index.php file this is fine as there are no edits in there from the mod anymore.

I can not reply to your PM cause I guess I have hit the hourly limit. The button I pushed I guess sent a request to godaddy to revive the database. I had to wait til they or the server itself did that. So I guess yeah the backup that was there worked fine. Then I edited the file and viola. :)
