Title: no thread subject possible?
Post by: Anguz on December 31, 2003, 01:49:44 PM
look at this thread in the test board
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=4262.0

it doesn't have the subject line, is this a bug? I don't think it should be possible to do this, even in tests... or should it? :P

It shouldn't, but there are a myriad of special characters you can use.  I can think of 2 offhand in fact....

The problem is that these characters are considered "text" and even in *some charactersets* may be actual letters.... but, in this one they are... nothing.  You can't hover over them... you can't do anything.

I wouldn't be surprised if this same "bug" existed in other forums as well.  (like vBulletin, YaBB SE, etc.)

I see... well, it's the first time I see it happen ever, so it's not really that important...

if it's the character set, the community using that smf install will have it almost every time, and if this ever happens, it's very probable it'll be fixed right away by the poster or moderator

thanks :)

If I publicize it, it will become more of a problem.
