Title: How to save attachments with original name
Post by: Game.ruler on April 17, 2011, 04:10:57 PM
Hello all respected seniors,
Actually there are lots of attachments got uploaded on my forum. So i take monthly backup of my files and after taking backup of attachments, i add a new attachment directory. and my monthly attachments uploads are arround 1.5-2.0 Gb. Me and some of my friends uploads most of the attachments.
When i take backup, i see attachments as "674_e4c094c48bccc87a62cf9ece6ca8684a03308a78" , but i want to save them with original file name not like this.
so that while backing up the data i can recognise files uploaded by me and i will manually copy them to backup folder. So that i dont have to download them.
Plz help me.

You can't. It is for security reasons that the file name is encrypted.

There is a file browser in Admin > Attachments and Avatars > Browse Files.

ok arantor. but if i manually copy my uploaded files to the backup folder and rename it with its encrypted name then is it right ?
means encrypted file and manually renamed files will work in simillar way in case if i upload the renamed file via ftp to the same folder. Will it work ?

Quotebut if i manually copy my uploaded files to the backup folder and rename it with its encrypted name then is it right ?

The encrypted name also includes a component that's based on the time of upload, so I doubt it will work for you.
