Title: Pull images from thread (even if externally hosted) and put into gallery
Post by: smoothedit on May 12, 2011, 04:44:50 PM
Hey all!

Does anyone know if there is an SMF equivalent of the package that they are using on this VBulletin site: http://www.inspiring-photography.com/forum/thumbnails.php

It is a plugin that pulls images from threads (even if externally hosted), creates and thumbnail and adds them to a gallery. The thumbnails and images are then hyperlinked to the thread.

Thanks in advance for your replies!

I have no clue if there is an existing mod but I would be willing to make one if someone confirms it doesn't exist..

message me when confirmed :)

Nearest I can find is this mod:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2523

It pulls latest attachments (not images hosted elsewhere) and turns them into a clickable thumbnail that links to the thread rather than attachment.

Could form a base to work from?

Many thanks - you are a star!

Tried Aeva Media?

Says it is not supported anymore but still works great :)

Aeva does not automatically insert anything into the gallery as far i know so that would not do what the op wants.

Cheers for suggestion Yoshi - unfortunately I dont think Aeva will make a gallery of externally hosted images?

Thanks anyways. - Have sent first responder a message - fingers crossed!
