I feel like such an idiot asking such a basic question... but....
All I want to do is create a text area with some introductory text on the main page of my SMF as an introduction to my forum. (i.e. above my category of boards). I have tried to search (I don't even know what search terms to use.) and looked through all of the configuration screens but no dice. I am using SMF v2.0
EDIT: I realize now that I need a mod. Just don't know which one. I looked at all of them but the "simple announcement" doesn't work with v2.0. Does this functionality exist? Any ideas on how www.sggu.com got the News section about the category box and the text on the top right?

Since I have bumped it already I will go ahead and update this. I got around what I was trying to achieve by adding a my site description into the 'Site Slogan' text field - Admin > Features and Options > Configuration > Current Theme > Theme Options and Preferences - Site slogan
It takes quite a bit of text so suits what I was trying to achieve.
What is the link to your forum?
