Title: Pls: Improve recovery of post contents after error
Post by: l_d_allan on August 18, 2011, 03:13:53 PM
Summary:
Allow restoring contents of post when error happens

Further comments:
I did a PEBKAC to myself, and lost the contents of a lengthy post when I tried to attach a file that was too large. It would be great if this was recoverable.

I'm aware that a work-around is to do Copy-All and then Copy-to-Clipboard prior to clicking "Save". I consider that a less than optimal bandaide.

Setup and more or less relevant info:

Thanks for considering this.

You might want to post this in the "Help wanted. Not for support" board.

This one's for features that you'd like to see in the next version of SMF. ;)

actually, there is already a mod that does this...   I think it's called autosave, or something like that

It may already be implemented. As a test, I tried again by attempting to upload an oversized file. There was a "Back" button available that took me back to the input page ... With The Contents Intact !
