Title: my forum wont let people upload their avatars

An Error Has Occurred!
The attachments upload directory is not writable. Your attachment or avatar cannot be saved.


I have checked the FTP that attachment directory is writable.Whats going on?

check if your attachments folder is chmod 777 or 755 depending on your server.

if your server is one of many that does not allow 777 try 755

perhaps the error is in the admin cp>avatar settings

can you give me a example how  the files and folders  should be?

i dont think that would be the problem as the avatars folder is for locally stored avatars that you can pick from the list, the attachments folder is used when users upload their avatar. if you dont know the permissions needed for your server contact your host.
