Title: Weird problem with WYSIWYG
Post by: Farmacija on July 23, 2012, 09:41:43 AM
Google webmaster tool reports huge number of 404 error and details are in attachment.

My host says that it isn't up to them.

Does somebody know what is the problem?

SMF's WYSIWYG editor does not live in its own folder, does not have a file called www.php and does not have what looks like a nasty vulnerability.

If you've installed your own WYSIWYG editor however...

I get this info from hosting company:

"I have searched and could not find the folder wysiwyg under the domain "farmaceuti.com".

On searching further , I could see that following links are present in the database farmaceu_far, which was causing the 404 error.

---
old_url|s:245:\"http://www.farmaceuti.com/forum/wysiwyg/www.php?action=permission&file=%2Fhome%2Ffarmaceu%2Fpublic_html%2Fforum%2Fattachments%2F4260_DSC
---

Please contact the developer and try to remove these entries from the database or try to remove these via forum domain admin area."

Your host is largely clueless about SMF.

The old_url item is solely tracking where a user has requested to go, as in it's a URL a user has asked for. But www.php is not a component in SMF, did you install a WYSIWYG editor of your own? If not, then it's a hacker trying to break in - and failing.

No, i did not install WYSIWYG editor by my own, but I do have Tiny Portal install, maybe that is reason why I have that folder on server?

It could well be the case - in the Modifications board, there is a dedicated thread for TP, or even their dedicated site, would be worth telling them about it.
