Title: Mambo Bridge Problems
Post by: marlyred on September 08, 2005, 08:34:58 AM
Mambo 4.5.2.3
Simpleboard 1.1 Beta 3 Public
MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_SMF1.1b3 running on my local dev pc with XAMPP for Windows Version 1.4.14 w\PHP Version 4.3.11

I have gone through all of the install instructions word for word with possibly one exception, I have published the bridge login module but i have not displayed it on any page as I want users to only use the login/registration module on the forum front page.

I have created a test user, activated them myself as I do not have a mail server set up on my PC

The issues I am having is that the new users are not being duplicated to Mambo user manager, also when someone logs in, they appear logged in on the mambo admin front page but when they log out of the forum they are not logged out of Mambo.

Can someone point me in the direction of the problem please.

Thanks

marlyred...

just FYI do not consider the mambo "who's online" list to be AT ALL accurate!  That includes the mambo standard module or the mambo admin list...

I just checked in the mambo sql database, the tables 'mos_users' and 'smf_members and the new user is in both. The difference is that in mos_user the registered date for the new user is '0000-00-00 00:00:00' and the are not assigned to the usergroup 'registered user' whereas in smf_members the registered date is correct.  Could this be because I activated the user as an admin and not by activation email?  I cannot check if this is the case as I do not have a mailserver set up.

What exactly is the problem?  Are your users able to register, login and logout?

I have not been able to test properly if new users can register through the activation email because I have not set up a mail server on my local pc.  However I have set up new users and activated them through the forum administrator.  The problem I am having is that they do not show up in the Mambo user manager. I have given all details in the first posts of this thread.

Thanks for looking.

They won't show up in the Mambo user manager until they are activated in Mambo.  The SMF user manager won't do that for you.

Ok, could you please tell me if it is possible for me to accomplish this scenario?

SMF Wrapped in Mambo.
Users only being able to log in and register with the built in Login/Register module in SMF
Users being present in both User managers, SMF and Mambo?

Thanks again

Yes, but not if you are activating them the way you are doing it.
