Title: Loading Website for first time problem...
Post by: Endurance on September 20, 2012, 09:58:25 AM
I have had multiple people people tell me the first time they loaded up my website, it showed broken pictures, and the forum just looked wacked... I tested it on multiple computers, and when I loaded the site, it did what they said... then I simply pressed REFRESH and the forum looked like it was suppose to.

The weird thing is, it never happened to them again after they hit refresh. I don't know if there is a way of fixing this, but having it look like that for the first thing you see kinda makes people turn away from the site.

Any Help?

Try "disable hostname lookups" in your Admin panel options. Might help a little, though the symptoms sound like a caching issue...

well, I'll bet it happens again, it you use Ctrl-f5 instead of just refresh...

it sounds like one or more of your urls/paths may be incorrect - possibly because you are using www.site.com when you have your site url set to site.com

If those suggestions don't work, try Admin>Forum Maintenance and empty the forum's cache.
