Title: Using 1.0.5 with bridge, should i upgrade to 1.1 or wait
Post by: n1kki6 on September 09, 2005, 05:10:13 PM
So i am about to launch a new version of my site and i am using 1.0.5 bridged with mambo and coppermine.  I really wish i would have just got everything working with 1.1 installed but i didnt, now before the launch of my site i am having second thoughts, i have modified quite a bit of code on the template files and i am sure i will have to do this over if i upgrade, but i feel it would be better to do now then have to do it when everyone is using the forum.  Would anyone recommend upgrading now before hand or waiting for the stable release?  Also if i upgrade how many issues will i have with the bridges i am currently using.

When I upgraded to SMF 1.1, the Coppermine bridge remained intact, thankfully.

You will need to upgrade your Mambo bridge, however.  SMF 1.1 does a number of things differently, especially in registration, so that will definitely need upgrading.

Your themes should need little to no changes.

Hum... I was thinking about upgrading too, but haven't done it yet because of the theme I'm using.
Which changes might be needed?

The only change I recall making was a variable name for the Latest Member in the Info Center box.  That may have been specific to my own forum, however.

The Design Team would be better to answer this.
