What i would like to see is a user selectable smiley set so say a board has 200 smileys they(the user) could choose which ones show up on the post screen :)
Yeah, like each user could have their own set of smilies which they can upload! Would really be great.
In what way do you mean? Each user has his own set which other people see (which I believe would be very very hard to do) OR you have multiple sets of smilies and users can decide which set they want to see the smilies as (like templates). The latter one sounds very cool the former I can imagine would get tricky... especially with adding more smilies...

Kinda like the latter - say u had 40 extra smileys for a board, in your profile you could choose which out of those 40 were displayed on the post screen to cut down on load times on the board and for that person.
so ie a customiseable post screen :)

I hate to say it but I don't think it would cut back on load times at all - if anything it may increase them (except the actual image loading but that's probably cached anyway)
I like the idea of having several smiley sets installed on the board and users being able to choose which one they want to see :)
Nice idea, but it does affect the board image a bit, I mean, there is no longer a typical set of smilies for a typical board...
The plan is that there will be smilie sets, and you can pick the on you like. But not upload them.

well that is good enough for me - thank you...... Basically it solves the need for the users (on my board) to view 180 smiles :)
This has been implemented..... smiley sets and additional smileys.
