Over the past few days, the load speed of this forum has gone way down. It appears to be waiting for up to a minute for pagead2.googlesyndication.com (a Javascript) to load. On each page. I have it banned on Ad Block Plus, but it still tries to load it. It may not be working anyway, as the page eventually comes up with Advertisement: and no banner ad. Is anyone else seeing this behavior, or is it something in my corporate firewall? Anyone familiar with how to use ABP to ban it? Firefox 16.0.2.
Odd. Opera's fine. But, I use "Ghostery" which kills Google crap stone dead.
It's available for Firefox, too, if it helps any.

Haven't seen the slowness on my end like you've described Phil.
No problem here :)
I have the same problem, in Opera... It doesn't happen each page load, but it happens a lot, and the page won't finish loading until Google servers finally replies.
I also, for some reason, have it with Thantos' site a lot o0 (Think it's avatar loading)
It comes and goes. Sometimes I can do 2 or 3 page loads in a row without a problem, and then a whole rotten stretch of minute-long waits. I'd guess about 75% of the page loads are slow. Since it's not 100% consistent, I don't want to blame our LAN or firewall without just cause (anything's possible). It's always "connecting to pagead2.googlesyndication.com" that seems to be the culprit.
im not getting it either :/

More likely the signature image which redirects you to a picasaweb hosted image.
Adblock plus loads non-obstructive ads, so it still loads googlead JS , you have to specifically disable them from its settings. Also, I sometimes face similar problem but only occasionally.
I don't know if it's googlesyndication.com's speed vs. the time of day, or if my company is throttling access somehow, but it seems to be a lot faster from home in the evening.
I'll have to see if I can figure out how to persuade ABP to block .js activity. "googlesyndication.com" is covered by a filter, but it doesn't seem to be stopping FF from doing the load (or whatever is taking so long).
If the firewall were delaying or otherwise interfering with certain actions, I would expect it to behave more consistently. I'm still puzzled as to why it seems/seemed to happen only with googlesyndication.com. Since even internal LAN communications are now showing delays and problems, I don't think I can blame this on that one particular site, so I'm going to call it solved, at least for now.

It's only turned on for certain boards.
not getting it
Try flash block for firefox incase its related to the flash versions. It blocks all flash unless you click to allow it.
