Title: Moderator notification problem
Post by: DaveV on September 14, 2005, 12:14:29 PM
I've had a board up for a few weeks, and just started adding moderators to a few individual boards.

Trouble is, I "reported" a test post, and all forum members got an email notice that was intended for moderators only!

Any ideas?

Never mind...

Apparently the board owner set up permissions, and made all users administrators. Fixed now.

Well, almost fixed. Members are no longer admins, but all members get email notices every time "Report this post to moderator" is selected.

I still need help finding this one...

Help!!!!

Are you sure they aren't listed as moderators?

Are all the boards set to use their own (local) permissions?  If so, have you checked the local permissions?

It's me again. Same exact problem as reported above. I thought it was fixed, but since it was a new board we just didn't have anyone reporting messages... until today. Again, one person clicked on "Report to Moderator" and all our members (several hundred now) got the message in their mailbox.

I've turned off reporting for all groups but senior staff until I can find the problem.

I've double checked permissions, but non-moderators are still receiving moderator mail.

I'm looking now at the ReportToModerator.php file but so far everything looks fine. Trouble is, I'm not sure I'd recognize the problem if I saw it!

Any suggestions on where to start looking?
