Is it possible to have the forums going next to eachother like the techsupport forum or thetechgame? and not under each other like a normal forum
Not without making some big changes to boardindex.template.php.

Until you find something better, with http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2294 you could create something quite similar to thetechgame.
Its only for 2.0.2 not 2.0.4 so can't use it.
