Has this been fixed in this version?
There are quite a few comments on github but I wondering if it was solved or not.
This was not a problem with smf... I believe the issue occurs when the PayPal confirmation is not successful.

Seems like a problem with SMF subscriptions to me. As it is a core feature I think it is an SMF problem if it does not work as intended. The error has been reproduced so this comment sounds like its being swept under the carpet again.
there were some changes related to paid subs. since no one has tested this out recently we dont know if it is fixed or not.
I don't understand why you opened this topic here as you already know this is a known issue and tracked here: https://github.com/SimpleMachines/SMF2.1/issues/1167
There is no mention of it here in the bug fixes so I have to assume its not done... unless someone says so. The link you provided gives no conclusive proof anything is fixed. Much thanks to Arantor and others for trying/ succeeding hopefully.

At least that was
an honest straightforward answer... the best available at the moment, and all I was looking for.
Running a club and logging in 200 times a year to set the date properly and inform people their account is open and they should check the dates is... a lot of work for the last 3 or 4 years. Also apologising that Im just a volunteer and I cant be there 24/7 to open their account as it doesnt do it automatically...
It is a major reason I used SMF and one I will likely leave it for if things dont change.
Its a tracked issue, so it'll be fixed at some point. Either help dev team to fix the issue or wait for the fix. I'm sorry but I'm going to lock this topic.
