I can't find the option for premoderation anymore, and the search settings isnt getting me anything related.
what do you mean by premoderation? some details as to what you are trying to do would help us help you.
if you mean post moderation that has not been removed. it works the same as it did in 2.0.
admin -> members -> permissions -> post moderation check the box to enable post moderation.

well i was looking for the feature that lets people post threads, but have to be approved by a moderator Before it is actually posted.
so that is post moderation.
have you enabled the setting in the location i posted above?

I did try that earlier, but it seemed absolutely irrelevant. By the looks of it, it effects the whole forum. How do i apply it to one specific board? do i have to set up another user profile, set the permission at board moderation then apply it to that board?
not a user profile, but a permissions profile would be required.
it would have been helpful if you stated in your initial post that you wanted it to apply to one board. then we could have told you a permissions profile was required.
enabling that option only lets you see the permission, not which boards it applies to.
BTW, this function has not changed from how it is done in 2.0.x

only one important part changed... where to go to enable it, since the core features page no longer exists.
