Title: Case insensitive search
Post by: probeman on June 15, 2015, 07:12:28 PM
Hi,
I'm using the default Search in the upper right of my SMF forum page and the search results seem to be case sensitive.

Is there a way to force the forum search to be case *in*sensitive?
thx

There is no case sensitive for the search option...
but you can look at the wiki .. where you can set different stuff.. like words, full index etc... check this
Search (http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Search_(admin))

Not sure what you mean by "wiki".  The index option might be useful but that still doesn't get me a search capability without case sensitivity.

Where can I request that?

Ok, that is weird. I clicked the Enable Simple Search and save and now the searches are case insensitive!

Not weird at all. Works as designed. ;)

As for the search index ... Admin -> Search -> Search Method

And the 'wiki' is the online manual for smf: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Main_Page
