What code do you need to add... and what are the specific instructions?
Because you would need to add it to index.template.php (for every theme) -- but you can't just randomly paste code in.

second -- you are probably going to run into javascript collisions by just adding that code
there are better options for a facebook like code in our mod section that will allow you to install as a mod package with alot less trouble...

Actually, I have researched all the Mods, but none of the MODS give me functionality which I want to add and this code does exactly that, that is to give pop up to user reading a post, a facebook like box popup.
This was instructed to be added to the body of the main template. But I don't know how to do it.
I understand that "you were instructed...." but I don't think that the person who instructed you actually understands the SMF templates of what might already be loaded on a page
Basically, that code is intended for a plain HTML page, not a php script.
If you absolutely must - it would be added in index.template.php (for every one of your themes)
but, by doing this, you are complicating your eventual upgrades...

I tried this and, while I do see that a lot of FB stuff was received by my browser, nothing is shown.
This is how you add it to every page load (do note that it can be added in other places). What it is supposed to do... no idea :P
