Title: How add users? where documented?

How do I add users?   Manually (my preference?),  by invite (how do I do this).   Where is this documented.    Also, why could I not find documentation on this when searching for it?

by default SMF does not have an invite system. are you actually using SMF 1.1? did you check the wiki? it is documented in the wiki how for an admin to register a user. http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/SMF2.0:Registration#Register_New_Member

ummm.... because you didn't click on the big link in the topnav menu that reads "Online Manual"? :D
