I know the one that says @br360 and the other one is Invite (registration through invitation) (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=653) although I do not know if it fulfills what you need, it is also for the 1.x branch you have to update it.

I'm a rookie to advise, but we use a JavaScript in a Portal Block to do that. Same thing can be done by a custom action.
