How do I add users?
Manually (my preference?), by invite (how do I do this). Where is this documented.
Also, why could I not find documentation on this when searching for it?

You can manually add users by going to the Registration link on the admin side menu. That would be this link (change domain to your domain): http://forum.com/index.php?action=regcenter

The form on that page should be self-explanatory.

And you shouldn't use the 1.1.x branch, it's EOL (there isn't any support for it, not even security patches). You should transfer to 2.0.x.
