Title: Upgraded from .15 to .17 now SOME users have issues
Post by: iaccountant on March 18, 2020, 12:20:08 PM
Just upgraded from .15 to .17 via .16 and although it seems to be fine based on the package manager, it seems some users are shut out

One member uses Opera, but switched to Chrome and all was well. Another is actually reporting the issue as a Chrome user

The error was reported to me as follows...

"Up until yesterday I automatically got into the board. As of yesterday I am asked for username and password and then informed I have timed out and I should try later"

Ive asked the user to clear their cache ...

Any other things I should know? I do see some reports of issues but not the one I am reporting

Anything in forum or server error logs?  Could be a cookie problem, you can change cookie name in Server Settings, that will log everyone out and drop new cookie when they login.

Just a note - since .16 had some security enhancements - all users are automatically logged out & must log in.  Once per device.

  • All users, including the admin, will need to log in again after 2.0.16 has been installed. After logging in, the admin can proceed to install 2.0.17.

I had to delete the user and had them re-register which solved the issue
