Upgraded from an OLD version of SMF on a stagnant forum and it is current and running well, looking at mods now.
On the old forum i had several anti-spam mods installed :
Stop Forum Spam
and
httpBL
I wonder if they are considered good bad indifferent , can/should they both be installed, any other insight recommendations?
Currently i have these anti spam aspects active in the forum.
Visual verification image (set to Medium) .
V2 ReCaptcha
3 verification questions( those questions follow for critique )
(what letter comes after (e) in the alphabet (Cap sensitive))
(What is the sixth letter in this sentence?)
(add the numers, f i v e and 9, what is total?)

The Image for Anti-Spam Verification Questions (https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=4278) mod with relevant questions is very effective.
The built in anti spam options, The Captcha and Verification Questions are very effective imo. If you want some extra anti spam options by way of third mods, the one posted above is a very good mod. Additionally have a look at this other mod as well:
