Much of our active topics are in grandchild boards. It seems like the forum index top level is going to show the most recent post information only as far down as a child board, and no deeper.
Is that correct? Is there a way to show the most recent post info regardless of depth?
Not without affecting performance
On the Recent Posts list in the Info Center, all entries are shown, regardless of depth.
For the board index itself, the depth is controlled by the setting "Maximum depth of sub-boards to check for new posts".
You can find the setting under Admin | Forum | Boards and Categories | Settings.
Oh, my bad. We're on 2.0.18, not 2.1. That's probably why I don't see the "Maximum depth of sub-boards to check for new posts" setting.
If a mod is able to move this thread to the correct forum, that'd be great.
The only way to achieve what you want is to upgrade to SMF 2.1 and then adjust the setting that shawnb61 described above.
It is not possible to backport the relevant changes from SMF 2.1 to SMF 2.0, for multiple reasons.
Thanks all for the info :)
