Title: "Issues with Theme Customization on SMF 2.1.x"
Post by: Bigbird230 on March 23, 2025, 12:09:45 PM
Hi everyone,

I've been trying to customize my SMF 2.1.x forum theme, but I'm running into a few issues. I made changes to the CSS and some template files, but they don't seem to take effect even after clearing the cache. Also, some layout elements look broken on mobile devices.

Has anyone faced similar issues or have suggestions on how to make the changes reflect properly? I'd really appreciate any tips or guidance!

Thanks in advance!

It helps to disable minimization of css.

I find that browsers usually need a hard refresh to load the latest css.  Easily done on desktops, usually shift-refresh.

Mobile browsers vary in how to do a hard refresh, and are sometimes stubborn...

So I usually start testing mobile in Responsive Design Mode in my desktop browser.  The benefit of using Responsive Design Mode is that it can emulate different models & versions.  Very helpful for testing...
