Title: Need Help to trouble shoot a GoDaddy SMF hosting issue.
Post by: hannaconner on July 16, 2025, 10:58:10 PM
I have been running an SMF hosting on GoDaddy since 2012 without issue.

I migrated the forum to the GoDaddy CPanel site because of hosting multiple domains and it was cheaper.

Since that migration, I have been running into SMF Database errors and since end or Oct 2019 my WP blog is active but not the SMF.

GoDaddy says all files are there, but they can't help me troubleshoot the issue.

It seems when they do a PHP update I lose access to the SM Forum

So all files are there, I just cant get the site to show up online.

Which version of SMF are you running?

Short answer... godaddy sucks

Longer answer-- godaddy uses some unique configurations which can make running smf difficult  -- bit most likely case is that you are running smf 2.0.x which has a maximum php version of 8.0
