I just went through a lot to use an existing YaBB SE database on a clean install of Enigma. What should have been relatively easy turned out to be harder than I thought:
I decided to update all the member numbers because there were several gaps. This meant that I had to update all the member numbers for the messages (I decided not to deal with the private messages). This was as simple as writing a few SQL queries to update the member numbers as needed. This went rather smoothly.
Next, I had to go update all the board IDs... Most of the board IDs were different (again - I don't like having gaps in the database), but this should have been relatively easy. For some reason, I either missed some stuff or didn't do it quite right because I went in and had to move a bunch of "salvaged" topics around.
After this, it was relatively easy to get things going.
I am now up to 107 members or so. I've had a lot of people join in the past two months, because I hosted a chat with the band that my site is a fansite for (I wasn't expecting the sudden increase in forum activity, but I'm happy).
Check it out - http://www.oldiesmann.us/ (Ignore the "valid XHTML 1.0" button - I still have to spruce up the code to make it valid).
congratulations
Thanks!
