Title: Show Smilie Code
Post by: Killer Possum on February 26, 2004, 04:42:21 PM
I will use SMF smiley sets as an example.

I think it would be better to show smiley code in someone's post instead of nothing at all if a smiley image is not there. (confused, me too... don't know how to word it)

Here's an example...

If using the YaBBSE or SMF smiley set you can see this --> >:D (evil smiley). But if using alienine's set you can't see it... you don't see anything at all.

So I think it would be nice to see the code (> : D) instead of nothing at all, so that you know at least that someone was joking about something or whatever. Also if someone used the evil smiley in there reply and that's it, it appears as a blank post if the image isn't there.

Although it's not a big deal, it would be nice to see this ;)

Actually, that's just because I haven't added an alt string yet.  On IE you'd see an X.

ah, I guess that's another reason why Mozilla browsers are the best, make things look cleaner ;)
