Good job, looks very nice! :)

One item - The topics/posts column on the boardindex is kind of unclear. What are the posts and what are the topics?

Thanks. :)
Only it is put instead of the blank, and there is no wonderful meaning. However, it might look strange. :P

akabugeyes
Thank you for a good comment. :) I also especially like the arrangement of colors.

Burpee
Thanks. :)
It assumes the same view as the fraction. For instance...

   1   Topics
   _   ______
   2   Posts

However, it is not certainly understood easily. It is a result of giving priority to the design.

i agree - topic and posts count not clear. but hey, you never know what you are going to come up with unless you try new things!

my wish list would be to add an admin dropdown that could change the 3 major colors automatically.

nice work! good job!  ;D

Thanks for nice comments, everyone. :)

I will try the method of my making it comprehensible about Topics/Posts. When this theme is completed, it thinks about other color version.

It became a thing that the almost everyone did not use though I made the different color version from the theme before in compliance with the demand. :P

Thats too bad. Personally I think you should just concentrate on making it just the way you want it, and leave the color versions stuff for later - its much easier when the theme is "perfect". ;)

I understand what you say well. :) However, the thing to make a different color for me version is a difficult thing.

Then, the balance of the theme is lost though it is easy to change the color of the main. It is needed to match everything. I do not want to share the theme that loses balance.

First of all, when I make the theme, the color of the main is decided. Afterwards, shape is decided. Therefore, it is not easy to change the color of the main.

I understand..sometimes its hard to change a theme based on original color palette , over to another color palette. When someone asked me to change Helios and Black22 to light versions, I thought "thats should be easy". But it wasn't. Suddenly the subtle fade effect of the dark Helios was lost, Black22 "lost" its impact from the greys when done in light hues and so on.

What I meant earlier was really that sometimes you do a good version - and thats it. Its done. If its suitable to make more color versions ( like my Simplicty theme for example) its ok, otherwise its almost like making a new theme...

The width broadens when the name of the forum is long. It is made not to change line to become a position that the position of the image of "Powered by Simple Machines" and the name of the forum intended. An easy method of settlement changes it to the image.

Some problems concerning the width of this theme were corrected.

The user who has already installed this theme add the following correction. It is not necessary to correct it when all themes are overwrited of course or it replaces it.

1. Up-load the following image to the "images" directory of Pn-Pn.
http://koni.s25.xrea.com/forum/Themes/pnpn11rc2/images/area_blank.gif

2. Add the following correction to the "index.template.php" file of Pn-Pn.

Find
      <td width="15" class="area_l">&nbsp;</td><td>

Replace
      <td width="15" class="area_l"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/area_blank.gif" border="0" alt="" /></td><td>

Find
<td width="70%" valign="top" class="headertext" align="left" height="65">

Replace
<td width="70%" valign="top" class="headertext" align="left" height="65">
<div style="width: 100%; overflow: hidden;">

Find

echo '
<img src="', $settings['header_logo_url'], '" alt="', $context['forum_name'], '" border="0" />';

echo '

</td>';

Replace
echo '

echo '

Find
<td class="maintab_bgba" align="left" nowrap="nowrap">';

'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 4px 2px 0;" border="0" /></a></div></td>

I like it too... :D

But changing from english to danish I get this message:

!!Attention of Pn-Pn theme:
You should put "Modifications.YourLanguage.php" on the "languages" directory ( http://www.naargudkalder.dk/forum/Themes/pnpn11rc2/languages/ ) in the theme of Pn-Pn.

I did that, but I still get the message!

I dont get this with other themes, so does something have to be changed somewhere in your code?

I know that there is a lot of text strings missing in the danish files running 1.1 RC 2, but surely they should sort of work anyway. Well, they do, apart from that message on top of every page.  :(

Hi,  :)

Will it be an empty file? It is not recognized in an empty file, because it judges it from the code included in the language file (File of "Modifications.english.php" included in Pn-Pn).

It is necessary to copy "Modifications.english.php" included in Pn-Pn, and to rename it to the language that you use additionally. If you use the Danish language, the name of the file will become "Modifications.danish.php".

It is necessary to copy "Modifications.english.php" included in Pn-Pn, and to rename it to the language that you use additionally. If you use the Danish language, the name of the file will become "Modifications.danish.php".

Thank you.
I used the standard modification file - I see now why that didn't work  ::)

Actually, newer people to webhosting do not always understand what it is possible to do for scripts they choose to use, including what regions are editable.  Recently, I had someone ask me this same type of question for a Joomla installation I did for him (about whether the header was changable).

I will admit, however, that frequently the question is asked about something being possible to do not because the person really wonders if it is possible to change something, but instead with the underlying meaning, "I don't know how to do this, can you do it for me?"  ;D

Look for the following code from "index.template.php". And, put the font for which you hope to the head of "font-family".

Quote<div class="powered_by_smf" style="font-family: Georgia, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; padding: 5px 0 12px 90px; white-space: nowrap; float: left;">', $context['forum_name'], '</div>

I have squeezed my forum into a Joomla template, resulting in a scrollbar at the bottom of the page. I then gave all the tables a fixed width of 675 px, but I still have the scrollbar. Is there a way to get round this cosmetic issue?

The scroll bar of the width doesn't come out even if it is necessary to reduce Pn-Pn up to this size (http://bdc.s15.xrea.com/snaps/0683.png). Therefore, another has the cause. For instance, image of too large header (http://www.naargudkalder.dk/templates/cb-sand/images/logo_header.gif).

I saw the source on your page and noticed it. Do not specify the width with px (675px). The width should be "100%".

Thanks. :)

The problem occurs when the option of the theme is empty. The problem will be solved if it makes it to turning off after the option of the theme is set to turning on once. I set those options to "true" by default. However, there seems to be a thing that doesn't become effective.

Display the administration panel (Admin -> Configuration -> Current Theme), put the check in the following option, and push the "Save" button.

Next, remove the check on the option and push the "Save" button. Perhaps, I think that the error disappears by this. There is no problem in my environment at all. Still, if you still see the error, I will devise other methods.

Do you know what would make this theme perfect? A Tiny Portal version.

Is one planned or would you mind someone else doing a little modification to make it work?

You'll have to be more specific. What do you want to look like the default theme?

And setting, then unsetting the options removed the errors ;)

Isn't the image of the fix I wanted show?

I updated this theme.

The user who has already used this theme need not update it.

@boost:
I do not understand the place that you say. Can you explain to me in the image?

@ilmainen:
Delete "BoardIndex.template.php" of this theme.

@Purple:
Because I had requested the permission for someone to remodel this theme for TinyPortal, I permitted it. If he shares it, it might be securable. However, I will not support the problem by the remodeled thing.

Look for the following code from among the "index.template.php" file. And, change it as you want the part displayed in red.

Quote<div class="powered_by_smf" style="font-family: Georgia, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; padding: 5px 0 12px 90px; white-space: nowrap; float: left;">', $context['forum_name'], '</div>
<div style="float: right; width: 80%;"><!-- blank --></div>

For instance, replace it with "&nbsp;"...

Quote<div class="powered_by_smf" style="font-family: Georgia, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; padding: 5px 0 12px 90px; white-space: nowrap; float: left;">&nbsp;</div>
<div style="float: right; width: 80%;"><!-- blank --></div>

Hi koni,

Glad that you are back :)

When I deleted the BoardIndex.template.php, the whole forum body looks like default which is not pretty. I just want the "Last post" align to the left like the default theme and the "Posts & Topics" are in one cell, with the text Posts and Topics.

Also, is it possible to change the logo and the text "powered by simple machines"? Can you show me how to do it?

@ koni
thanks so mucho!

@ilmainen
just open up photoshop and copy and paste the right portion of the images needed editing, which doesn't have the writing, and paste it over the left side with the writing.
then just save and rewrite it over the original image
and upload
that's what i think should work ;D

</tr>';

QuoteAlso, is it possible to change the logo and the text "powered by simple machines"? Can you show me how to do it?

A lot of corrections might be necessary to make it display at the same position. I will not do it.  Because I am having it forcibly displayed. :P Therefore, it is easier to exchange the image.

It is not complex when thinking. :P

Add the following correction to "index.template.php".

Find:
<div class="powered_by_smf" style="font-family: Georgia, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; padding: 5px 0 12px 90px; white-space: nowrap; float: left;">', $context['forum_name'], '</div>

Quote<div style="white-space: nowrap; float: left; padding: 5px 0 12px 90px; text-align: right;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, sans-serif; font-size: 30px;">', $context['forum_name'], '</span><br /><span style="font-size: small;">Word for which you hope</span></div>

Change it into the word that you want the part of a red character.

Title: Re: [Theme] Pn-Pn for 1.1 RC 2
Post by: weber on March 30, 2006, 08:44:36 AM
I will not put it in to the option though it is easy. I do not understand why to fix the width of the theme flexibly designed to correspond.

A user will see your forum by a variety of image resolutions. Or, a user will see your forum without displaying the bookmark. And, a user displays the bookmark and, of course, sees your forum. The width of a browser is various as well as the person who sees.

If the fixation of the width of your theme is hoped, the following correction is added to "index.template.php".

Find:
<body>
<a name="top_t" id="top_t"></a>';

Replace:
Quote<body>
<div style="width: 760px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;">
<a name="top_t" id="top_t"></a>';

The red character is specified by your favorite width.

Find:
echo '
</body>
</html>';

Replace:
echo '
</div></body>
</html>';

Mods doesn't give the change to this theme though I wrote in FAQ a little. Because the target of mod is a theme of default. Therefore, you only have to return it based on the part if it customized it so that you may match this theme to mod by hand power.

I recommend you to return default the theme. And, confirm whether to find the same trouble. And, consult by the category of "Mods and Packages" if the same problem exists. Perhaps, an appropriate answer will be obtained.

Did not you uninstall the mod? Is there a problem only in this theme after uninstalling mod? If it is so, an easy solution is a thing to overwrite the theme with the new files.

Hi there!

Congrats for the great theme you've made!
I'm here to ask if it is possible to set a fixed width with this theme?
Like for example, having 780px of width instead of having the one of the current size of the browser window.

I hope I've explained myself. :S

Thanks for all!

P.S. - Sorry for my awful english.

I really like this theme, but it's confusing as all hell to attempt to modify.

Could you please explain to me how you can modify the header?   I created my own image files and uploaded them in place of the default ones, named them the same, and it doesn't work.   I went into Photoshop and edited the existing files, saved them, and then reinstalled the theme with the new image files, and it doesn't work.  The theme loads with no images or anything?   Very frustrating...   I didn't change any of the layout or other code, only altered the images it doesn't work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does not work mod, installed with the manual ? This theme is a little complex. If the file that you corrected is "Display.template.php", the same work might have to be done twice.

Change "Posters information position" from the administration panel, and confirm whether mod operates. And, your correction is insufficient when operating.
The position of "Posters information position" is changed into this theme top or left. Therefore, the same work is needed twice (The location that should be corrected doubles.).

Note: The code of "top (default)" and "left" is different though it is natural. The code of mod will be able to be applied to mod perhaps without the change. However, the code of mod should be likely to be modified to "top (default)". Because there are many change parts in "top (default)".

This theme can change the main color from administration panel. Moreover, the images of the header are changed according to the color. Therefore, you should change the header images who matched it to the color used. Search in the "images" directory. I have divided the directory according to the colors.

Still, when the image doesn't change, the cache of a browser might be a cause.

Thanks for the reply!   I was doing that, I was using the 'lightgray' color.  I did modify the images in that folder, as well as ones in the main image gallery, as all I really want to do is get rid of the smf logo in circles.  It's easy enough to get rid of the one on the left, by simply creating your own main logo.   But I want to remove the two on the right hand side, and I was taking the various backgrounds, and copying the gradient over the smf logo circles.

Although I did do a 'shift-reload', It could very well have been a cache problem.   However, on one attempt, I simply uninstalled the theme, edited all the images, and then reinstalled the theme with the edited images and no images showed up.   I'm obviously doing something wrong here.   :P

I'll give it another shot today or tonight and report back.   I really like the theme and appreciate your response.  Thanks!

I'm usually pretty good at this, finding all the pieces of something to re-color in a theme but this one has me baffled. I've poked and prodded trying to find this ONE piece and just can NOT find it. Other than that, the skin is perfect for the forum. It's a private, members only forum for a Red Hat Society group and I needed a red and purple theme. None out there but your red theme worked, with a modification. All I needed to do was color everything that was black, purple.

However, one problem, I have this HOLE. I can NOT find the piece that goes in there. It's black, I know that, suppose to be purple and I've colored every black graphic in the image folder and in the red image folder.

Any ideas as to where I might be going wrong? Attached is a screen shot. Liz

I posted on the other thread for this but got no answer. I recently installed SMF and this theme (around 3-4 weeks ago)

I have a problem with the oversized screenshots posted in the template.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/ryanna1/baa28ced.jpg (http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a389/ryanna1/baa28ced.jpg)

If I change to another template this doesn't happen and I cannot find whether there is an option I am missing to change this or if a flaw in the template or if it's my flaw.

I don't want to use the Admin - > Features -> Basic -> images posted sizes options because it shrinks the pictures badly and text on is unreadable (I already tried this).

That said, what is different here that is working fine in the other templates (example the auto scroll on each post if the image is oversized?)

Thanks

You replace it looking for the following code from "style.css".

Find
/* Posts and personal messages displayed throughout the forum. */
.post, .personalmessage
{
width: 100%;
line-height: 1.3em;
}

Replace
/* Posts and personal messages displayed throughout the forum. */

Just like to say, this theme rocks 8) 8) 8)
With a few pointers, I've got the streaming 3 and galley mods working and it looks great. Thanks for the work you put in to this theme ;D :D :D :D

Very nice theme -- I am modding it for my own use, check it out here: www.corforums.com

Thanks!
Tai

I just switched from phpBB2 this morning and so far I am loving it.

great theme though im stuck with 2 things. iv changed the colors of the template and all is great except i cant figure out where to change the colour at the side of the frame, its only one tiny bit but cant figure it out. also at the top next to the menu iv got a big white stripe which too i cant get rid of.

here is a pic, any help would be great.

I'm having trouble adding a Gallery tab to this theme and got sent here, which in turn sent me to the tutorial for the Core theme, which I'd already looked at ages ago anyway and didn't seem to work, not to mention a bit vague to begin with (I'm completely new to PHP and this stuff so please be patient). I tried the guide and sort of got what the code was trying to do but it didn't work - also I got massively confused by this -

Quote' , $txt[103] , ' - is the text string that 'Home'.  As you see the variable is insde ' , , '.  The reason for this is because it's inside an echo.  If you are going to hard code the name in the menu you do not need to put ' , , ' around it.

Apart from the first sentence not actually making any sense, I still couldn't translate what on earth that was on about anyway since it's clearly referring to people who understand the code in the first place.. so yeah basically I'm a noob, and can someone just show me the correct code to place in this theme to add a gallery tab please?

To answer your question god_made_me_do_it.

Find this.
// The [calendar]!
if ($context['allow_calendar'])
echo ($current_action == 'calendar' || $context['browser']['is_ie4']) ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '<td class="maintab_off_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' , '
<td valign="top" class="maintab_' , $current_action == 'calendar' ? 'active_back' : 'off_back' , '">
<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=calendar">' , $txt['calendar24'] , '</a>
</td>' , $current_action == 'calendar' ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '<td class="maintab_off_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>';

And after it add this.
// Show the [gallery] button.
echo ($current_action == 'gallery' || $context['browser']['is_ie4']) ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '<td class="maintab_off_' . $first . '">&nbsp;</td>' , '
<td valign="top" class="maintab_' , $current_action == 'gallery' ? 'active_back' : 'off_back' , '">
<a href="', $scripturl, '?action=gallery">' , $txt['gallery'] , '</a>
</td>' , $current_action == 'gallery' ? '<td class="maintab_active_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>' : '<td class="maintab_off_' . $last . '">&nbsp;</td>';

Then open up the modifications.english.php file, and

After this
// Pn-Pn ADD

Add this
$txt['gallery'] = "Gallery";

This would be my first time telling someone how to edit.  If you have any trouble feel free to ask.

The above fix adds a new tab to access the gallery, however the link to the gallery settings (in the config menu of the admin pannel) is still missing.

Could someone please post the fix for this. Thanks.
