I have found a minor correction that should be made
it is for those who has the SMF forum wrapped in joomla/mambo, and probably any other situation for wich the board is not running as a standalone forum website.
In the main page of the affiliate there is the link for the affiliate 8I suppose, some instruction also would be cool to have) this link looks like this.
Your affiliate url is: http://www.your url /forum/index.php?action=affiliate&memberName=admin
When a member put this code on a banner previously placed on his website associated to thios link and then a visitor of his site click on the banner (so it is a referral) it is redirected to an unwrapped version of the board, instead to the site wich the board belong.
In my case for istance this is very uncomfortable since the unwrapped version of the board has only the title that indicatres what site the board belong, and there are no links to go to the main site.
I have searched every where within the files of the mod but I was not able to find the corresponding line of code to correct this, otherwhise I would have posted the solution here.
I hope someone know where to look to make a change for those running a wrapped version of the SMF forum.

Also is there anyway to show the total post count under the profile area as well have a seperate section that shows points or cash earned based on affiliate information? I am currently awarding 4 points or $0.04 per post in certain sections of my forum as well as 5 points or $0.05 for each referral.
Which files should I edit to enable me to show the members total post count and also a post count that only increases based on the boards they post in?

you must test it with other memebers that have different IP than you. It will not give point to same IP again. ask your friend to join under your referral link

I installed the affiliate mod to pay members for posting. However, it is counting every single post! Only certain boards make count posts go up but the affiliate mod doesn't look at this. Look at the images below:
This first image shows the correct number of posts, 333.

What can I do to modify the affiliate.php, affiliate.english.php, or affiliate.template.php pages to show the same number of posts as the first image? I have looked at many different files and tried to fix it myself but I don't know what to do.

No, I dont think the error messages are useless. If you get then its because there are error, you can still install it but whats point, do you actually want to have a mods with errors not working? I could not make it work with the latest version and so could not most users, so dont install it.

It does, however, create a whole CRAPLOAD of errors... 4 pages worth in 2 clicks.
I have the same problem. Just clicking on the affiliate tab set off loads of errors. And when my members' referrals come to the site, they can not signup. But if you just put in the direct url to my site, there is no problem.
So it works or not? Last time i tried it, last year i thing, it did also installed fine and i dont have any mods as well, but it did not worked, you guys say it gives errors too, so that is simple, then it doesnt work. I need this on a urgent matter, why dont we do this?
Someone puts a pot, and we hire a freelancer, from getacoder.com or scriptlance.com to fix this mod. Everybody can see the final price that programmer will charge so it would be fair for everyone and we would have a nice little mod.

Egold is complicated, i dont have it and no only a small % have Egold. Scriptlance was very cheap in the past, but i think things have changed, the bids i get are very high now, in the past i had 40$ bucks for a full mod write, now to re write this mod the lowest one right now is 60$ bucks.

I have it installed on 1.1.2 (classic) with Tiny Portal and about 50 other mods that works seamlessly
I get loads of errors and my members referrals gets errors when they come to the site and are unable to sign up. Or at least they are not signing up. I get 100's of hits everyday that are guest but they are conducting an unknown action. Then when I click on their IP to track their actions, it shows they attempted to access the site through one of my members affiliate links and then it list about 4 to 5 pages of errors. Also the points system will not differentiate between boards that pay and boards that do not.
Otherwise everything else works fine. It tracks member's points and money earned great. But if I can't get new members, it's worthless.

no one is helping here. If you would browse back a few page, you can see some of us are trying to raise a pot to hire a programmer to update this mod so it will work for version 1.1.2.

Well, this mod work with 1.1.2 version.
If the /Themes/default/index.template.php keep failing the test. We have to figuer out how to get that file to work and pass the test.
I have someone told me I have manluy install all the code's for this mod for that file after I install the mod in my forum.
The pot is 30$ now. For all others just keep trying, instead of collaborating for the pot and we can have it in 1 day working, just keep waiting or try to fix it, its months now that nobody or only 1 of 100 seem to make this mod work. That the installation said Ok doesnt mean it works. The mod is full of error we have to fix. So you can do 2 things, wait maybe until next year or never when someone fixes this mod, or put your bucks into the pot and have the mod in a week.

I did not see any update for this since last year, so just wait. The autor maybe will never again update the mod so you can wait forever.

Sending them a PM, i believe, sends them an email by default. That wont do much good though if he has that option turned off

Theres more problems with this mod currently than just that -- I get several pages per click while it is installed. And believe me, i have managed to install it. It installs fine on a stock SMF 1.1.2.
But it errors A LOT.
I suggest perhaps someone should attempt to track down the mod author. As prior suggested, try PM
i guess others have tried contacting the mod author before but they were unsuccessful. If im not mistaken, the thread starter pays someone to do this mod. So no point in contacting him.
The only thing to do is either hire someone to repair this, or
Hire someone to start fresh.

i am not sure that i have the skillset required to do such a thing. My knowledge of PHP is basic to low level intermediate at best. Of course, if i had the abilities, i would be glad to. Unfortunately that knowledge is not a trait which i currently posess.

When we have the pot at the level of 60$ send a PM to send the paypal donation. You can see the url of the project on some posts before and when the programmer is hired on the scriptlance url posted. The current lowest bid is 60$. I will pay the % myself for sending the money to scriptlance since they do charge a fee for adding the money. Besides that my contribution to the pot also.
I hope we get this soon, we all need this mod and together with a small contribution of each one we can do it in no time.

I did not had any news from the programmer yet. Im guess he is working on it. I remember what |||||| said once, sharing is caring, so only the confirmed donators will receive the working script. Thats me and |||||| so far.
The funds transfer from my bank to PayPal has been held up because of a deposited check. They claim funds will be available within two days. At that time I will forward you my share of the cost. But since my PayPal has been hacked twice in the past years, I do not keep any funds in it. I would have had the money already transfered but I thought it would go straight through.

Of course its Free and open source. Just download the Mod from the SMF mods page. Its free, but its not working.
The version we are programming and fixing is not open source. I paid 65$ to a programmer. Everybody could donate to it and get it, and stil can. You could read the whole posts and see how much time we are taking on this. Im sorry but you are not going to get the programmed mod that it costed us money for free. Sharing is caring. So if you want the fixing version you have to donate. You can still get the free version that is old and programm it yourself to make it work with your current SMF. Its yours to choose.

hey guys , those who have updated mod , although the installation is okay, somethings can be improved.
(1)Had an issue with the index template installation becoz of my heavily moddified theme index , could be improved with better xml searching , had to manually do some edits.
(2) No permissions settings on membergroups , all registered users get to see the affialiate button , not preferred.
(3)No referral question on registration , prob need an additional module , but which one? too many around.
(4)the points systems which pay per post , pay per topic , works with the shop mod? ( as of now , its not compatible with shopmod , the db entries seems to be different)
i think becoz of lack of documentation , many questions left unknown. if anyone can help me out here , would greatly appreciate it. i prob have to throughly test it out tonight to get to know it more
The MOD originally is for the Default Theme. Just like all others mods. We even had added an extra language example for non english but its impossible to make it for every theme available. So it installs and works fine on the default theme. If you have a custom theme like me and other users you have to edit files.
The programming was just to fix the original mod so it works, and its compatible with 1.1.2.
Theres allot to do and to add to it but thats is another story.
I am using the affiliate original mod developed by tarkhorani and it's working fine :)

4. Admin can edit referred user (delete, move to new sponsor, etc)
5. Admin can enable/disable display for 'top ref', top poster, etc in the info center so everyone can see. Right now member cant see other member who has the most post, the most ref info.
6. Admincp : right now only admin has access. Better if admin can chose who can view it like global mod, etc.
7. When the new user arrived at the page & tried to register, it will show on the registration page 'referred by
8. On the profile area, the new user can see who referred him & the date join. Same thing for the user that referred the new member, he can see who he referred & when.

Yes it worked. We hired a scripter to fix it. Not difficult to install at all. Just click, PRESTO!!
Like all other smf mods, it will only work with the default template. In you case, you would have to edit some files manually.
Yes you need to donate if you want it.
Yes it works now. All donations go a bucket. The first one we used to fix the mod. Future donations go to a bucket so we can further develop the mod, that means any new bugs discoverd and mainly new features programations. You can install the mod on a non default theme like i did, it will required some manually edition like any other mod. The mod is plain simple dont expect big features, it does only exactly was it written on the first topics of this mod. Since the fix was to make the current mod work with the latest version of SMF. No new features where added on the mod.

Well hi guys. How about further developing this?
One of the main features it needs as ADDON is to be able to select the pay per post only to certaing members or to a group. So we can say visitors and newbies dont get but experts get points. Or we can make a whole group that only gets points and not others. How about other ideas? Please good and really needed functions. It took forever to get 60$ to recode this so unless someone wants to donate a big buck i dont think we are going to see big features very soon. Im willing of course always to further develep this, one step at the time. At least it works now.
From here we have to see what can be worked, what can be better or what can be fixed.

I have the mod from babjusi and will add it in the next couple days. I will then post if I have any errors or not from it.
By the way, I want to add that I only made the mod compatible with the version 1.1.3. If someone gets an error during install which can be due to a conflict with some other mod or anything else of that matter, it is not my problem. I was in no way saying you mislead me. The mod did do just as you said it would. The problem with this mod lays deeper then being able to install it. It does install and uninstall without fail. I know, because I have done both many times today.
I apologize if my statements lead anyone to think that babjusi mislead me. babjusi has always given me great advice. As a matter of fact, I was rereading a post in which he is helping me another issue when I received notification that this topic had a new reply.
I know exactly how you feel. I have been working on finding someone that can help me get this mod installed on my forum with no errors. If you find someone are get it working without error let me know. Thanks

I have paid 3 programmers to fix this mod and the only one that got it to do as they say it would was babjusi. The other two says it should work completely. But if you install it, on 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 you will instantly start logging errors. Even if installed on a fresh copy with no mods at all.
This would be a great mod to have as my members are not into having to send out a email to invite new members. I noticed that the shop mod has some features that the affiliate mods does. Can it be modified to work as an affiliate program also? I'm no php or SQL wiz at all, but just a thought.
well it looks like this mod was a waste of money. to many issues with it. won't install if there are other mods but I want the other mods also. Looks like I may need to pay someone else to build it from scratch to work for me. didn't realize it would be this complicated.

It's this script installed when you install this mod? I'm using 1.1.4. (i edited the *.php files to make comptabile with my actual mods, but i didn't see any banner script).

Hello, I'm pretty new to SMF
I am using affiliate mod-1.1.3 on my smf 1.1.5 forum. I didn't have to manually install it/modify template files for my template (it's not the default) and it works just fine. The only problem is that the users can't see how many points they have. So the everything internally is working fine (the mod is counting up points right and everything), it's just that only the admin (me) can view the point count. I know that individual users should be able to see their own point count because when i set the template back to the default, there is a link on the main menu interface (the top horizontal bar) that says "affiliate" and shows their score once you click on it.
So my question is: do i have to manually install the mod? I have tried doing this, but gave up (it was too complicated).
All i need to do is get that link to show up at the top of the page, is there anyway i could get it there without manually installing the mod?
If i do need to manually install the mod i'm going to need someone to walk me through it..
I also see an option within affiliate mod that says:
Path to script banner (relative to your root forum path): path/xxx.php
Path to the file which is goint to display to guests: path/xxx.txt
Might this have something to do with user's ability to see their own affiliate stats?
