Title: Themis
Post by: Bloc on March 23, 2006, 12:47:52 PM
Link to the theme (https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?theme=13)

I just finished a theme called Themis, and would like to share it with you. Its less graphic-intensive this time and perhaps more "allround". You get the option of putting a logo (picture) on the top of the board - check "current themes settings" in admin panel.

This one doesnt have buttons with text. It can be just the icons - or icons with text-strings next to it/below it. There is a line on the front that says "most users online ever" and "most users online today"- and the main buttons on top can have labels.(shown in the screenshot). Configurable in the admin section along with the logo. The linktree is "boxes-only" inline style and has hover-effect.(should work in both mozilla/opera along with IE).
Graphics may only be used in a SMF enviroment.

demo:
http://www.tinyportal.net/demo/index.php?demo=themis

As always - comments are welcome. :)

The theme has three extra fields in "current Themes settings":
(http://www.mammakroken.net/yabbse/Themes/default/images/bullet.gif) Sidebar..put your HTML code in here and it will show upp on the left. If empty, sidebar will not be visible.
(http://www.mammakroken.net/yabbse/Themes/default/images/bullet.gif) Sidebar width.. set the width of it in pixels.
(http://www.mammakroken.net/yabbse/Themes/default/images/bullet.gif) Topbar..put your HTML code in here and it will show upp on the top - above the upshrink. If empty, topbar will not be visible.

No, it just use icons, and will simply use your language strings for the texts.

Did you install it the regular way? upload through admin? or did you overwrite an earlier theme/default theme folder?

I just uploaded/installed via admin.

It is also a Joomla wrap

ah, then it might be a Joomla bridge problem. Are you using the SMF bridge for Mambo/Joomla or the another one?

Im using the SMF Bridge but no other theme has this problem.

Are you sure you are using the correct version of Themis then? There is at least 3 versions of it, for SMF 1.0.7 to 1.1RC2.

Title: themis css question (bug?)
Post by: greenery on July 16, 2006, 01:17:15 PM
I'm new to Simple Machines, so please have patience with what may be rudimentary questions.

My forum (http://www.tiedtothetracks.com/forum (http://www.tiedtothetracks.com/forum)) is up and running without a hitch. After about ten days with no problems, I started looking for an alternate theme. I like Themis for its clean look and flexibility with the side and top bars, so I installed it. Again, no real problems, except some posters mentioned the typeface was too small for comfort. I found that to be the case as well.

I wanted to customize the colors anyway, so I went into the .css file and did that, and I also increased font sizes.

Now some people say that the screen is cut off for them on the right. I don't have that problem (Firefox, Mac OSX), but I have had a number of people tell me about it. Some of them went into preferences and chose the default theme, which solved the problem. And of course that's great, but I would like to get Themis working properly as it's much more in line with the rest of my website, stylistically.

I'm not sure if I can attach the amended .css file here, or if that's even necessary.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm bumping this query of mine in the hope Bloc might be around

I think this is due to the illustration on the left upper area ...it push the usual userbox to the right. Have you though of reducing that picture some?
Title: Re: Themis
Post by: greenery on July 18, 2006, 07:02:52 PM
I'll try that right away. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bloc --

No matter how much I reduced the graphic, it still caused IE to truncate on the right. So I took the graphic out completely.

Could you tell me if it's possible to put in a full width header above the set of three info boxes? I tried it a couple different ways and it never quite worked. Ideally what I would like to do is use the same header as I have on my weblog (http://www.tiedtothetracks.com/storytelling (http://www.tiedtothetracks.com/storytelling).

I have had a look at the Tiny Portal package which has all kinds of features I'd love to use, especially the addition of more boxes in various places -- but I'm not confident enough to install or configure it at this point. Hopefully I'll get to that point eventually.

If you find the <body> tag in index.template.php, simply add a <div><img src="path-to-picture" alt="" /></div> right after it, it should appear above everything else.

I haven't looked at it yet, and yes..Themis might have some trouble since it modify so many templates.

To help you a bit, found already one:

The modify button at the right of every message (if you are admin or mod) doesn't work anymore,
this normally creates a text field in the message where you can edit quick the message,

If i click it nothing happens, only the real edit button still works at the top of message

hope you understand me there :)

too bad i was forced to change to the Default theme again, since the registration also doesn't work anymore.

You cant see the displayed picture of letters with the registration so people cant registrate at all...

hope you can have soon the RC3 version :)

God bless

Excuse me, I am also a bit newish.... and Love both of the themes you keep in your signature. We must have simular tastes!

I want to keep my forum as simple as possible but with a Green Color and the Ad Mod. Do you know how well Themis works with the Ad Mod?

I am trying to add the Ad Management mod but although I made the manual changes it still does not work.

Any idea where to insert google ads on themis?

Title: Missing alt text in Mark as read icon
Post by: spiros on January 12, 2008, 03:17:30 AM
There appears to be no alt text to Mark as read and Mark all messages as read icons. Is this deliberate?

You have to get the TP version of Themis at http://www.tinyportal.net. This site has only the SMF versions.

http://www.tinyportal.net/index.php?action=tpmod;dl=item523 (notice the TP version is at the bottom of that page)

When I have enabled quick moderation, the last icon on the right is link to calendar and the Delete selected does not appear, even when clicking on a check box.

There must be something missing in display.template.php - do you have any idea what it is?

Same applies with some other Bloc's templates.

Prob. some recent SMF changes not reflected in the theme. I haven't looked at it for a long time.
