Hi
Sorry to ask this question, I know you don't like to answer it, but can you give any kind of hint as to when the final release of 1.1 will be available?
I really need it!
Regards,
seekasr

Sounds good to me. We don't need a buggy final. SMF dose not need the same reputation as Microsoft.
The Bugware/Patchware Pro they are. lol 8) :D ;D

How can they give you a date if they are not complete?
it will be out, before Duke Nukem 3D comes out ;)
Of course they can't give me a date, and of course it'll be out when it is ready.
I was just asking for a hint, which could be 1 month, 2 months or half a year.
Before 2013 ;)
A month or two probably. But.. we were thinking that when we released RC2. It depends on how long the bugs take to get fixed, and how much more work needs to go into internationalisation.
SMF Final Release 1.1 will be out when it is complete :)
Guess that would be the best answer ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, I'd like to know too?
It will be released someday after yesterday.
If you're looking for a more definate date, I'm 98% sure it will be released before 2013 :)
Whilst development takes place on SMF each and everyday no release dates have been set and indeed no release versions have been decided either. Asking for when the next release of SMF is coming is like asking for the lottery numbers!
One thing is for sure though you will read about it here! ;)
Coincidentally, The lottery numbers are:
4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42

Maybe the 42nd of Octember :D
Or, maybe 2042 or 42nd century.
Is it possible that Acf (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=profile;u=42) will announce the release?
lol :P maybe 42 days from now... ??? :)
or 42 minutes or seconds from now :O :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D man i dont want to stop witht the :D faces :P
okay lets get back on topic now :P
SMF 1.1 final shall be released when it is ready. Not a minute sooner. It is important to understand that there are really no new or very few features going into SMF 1.1 RC3/Final after RC2. I find RC2 to be really quite stable enough to use at this point. I also do think it will take some time seeing as it appears an RC3 will be coming, as mentioned in the SMF newsletter. So saying RC3 came out in a few weeks, the final could be many months away from RC3. This is the best I can guess, but really, it could come out in a year or longer for all I know. The development team really wants to have SMF 1.1 as stable as possible so we don't need to see 7 minor releases of it like we saw in 1.0. Sometimes certain things are unavoidable, but others are not. If you rush the development to release 1.1 final too fast, you are not really receiving a 'gold' product that is as stable as it should be.
well all i know is thats its worth the wait... no longer how long it turns out to be :)

Cool thanks! :)
Well, if there is going to an RC3 (I thought RC2 was going to be the last release candidate) then, looking back over history, I predict 1.1 will be released on the 29th or 30th of December 2006.

I don't believe it's that far off.
