Title: Theme How to?
Post by: CP on April 06, 2004, 05:38:51 PM
Can anyone explain how the skinning (theme in SM) works?
In old YaBBSE there was a template file that could be modified in Admin area.
Now, it looks as if the entire "theme" needs to be written or files adjusted manually?
Is there a Theme FAQ's or Theme How To anywhere or a good few steps to get someone started?

Go to admin center and click current themes and layout settings  then look tot he rigth and click create new and it will back up your mian forum theme and make another compy for it and it will then be aclled New theme. Then click on new theme and it will have a bunch of stuff where you can edit the main template or just the colors and stuff

Thank you very much.
I am not used to the way the "skinning" / themeing is done for this board.
Are there any projects or boards being created for this type of work?
I have posed the possibility to a skinning site that does not have YaBB or SMF skinning in their lists of IBF, phpbb, Icon, and MyUpB skins.
They are reviewing this option currently.
Thank you again for the input.

Work is already in the planning stages and will soon be ready for implentation on a mroe simplified way of doing the primary index template.

Very good info [Unknown], I have always used WYSIWUG (Dreamweaver) here and even for the YaBB-SE php version, but these will not show in there and I have tried a lot of things with no luck on my test board.

I hope these new implentations will make things better to work with for me too!   :)

Have been playing with the tutorials you point all to but that is a slow process too!   ;)

Thanks for the INPUT!
