Simple Machines Community Forum

Hi everybody. I must admit I was not a big fan of SMF when it first came out. I guess I liked YabbSE too much, specially the one page template. Well I'm here to tell you I was wrong. SMF rules. 8)

I know it's bare. The guys who run the site were using phpbb and they got hacked. Bad. They lost everything in their db and half the info on the site. No one really did anything on the site for a month or so so all their members drifted off. :'(

Anyway, they asked me to redo their site so I installed SMF and then rebuilt the site around their original design. I think it's coming along pretty nicely, almost back to where it was content wise. I'm using SSI pretty heavily to distribute new content. And I've convinced them regular backups are a good thing. :)
