I've a problem.
I login in the administration page of joomla, Installation--> Component.
I select file com_smf.zip and click on Load&Install.
The error is "unable to find XML Setup in the package".
Unzipping the com_smf.zip i find smf.xml....

PLEASE HELP ME!

What version of Joomla?

I had the same error it turned out in Joomla my /tmp and media folders where unwriteable CHMOD 777 those folders and the error when away.
