I get this error message:

Warning: chmod(): Operation not permitted in /path/to/my/site/administrator/components/com_smf/install.smf.php on line 104
SMF Bridge Component

It still says:
Installation: successful

I commented out the chmod, did the chmod manually, repackaged the files and reinstalled the bridge, and now it works like a charm.

I having trouble with the file ownership on my server, what file did you chmod

"did the chmod manually"

I have checked, double checked.
