Otsikko: Large communities using SMF?
Kirjoitti: Cesay - heinäkuu 25, 2006, 04:00:16 IP
I'm batting around the idea of switching to SMF from phpbb for a forum I help run. It's a fairly large, very active forum and SMF seems to hold its own nicely. What's the biggest community you know of that uses SMF? I'm just curious because some forums offer great features, but they can really thrash a database on busy boards.

On a sidenote, does the phpbb converter do OK with newer versions of phpbb? The converter page says 2.0.7.

TIA  :D

Largest SMF boards. (http://rankings.big-boards.com/?filter=SMF,all)

Largest SMF board. (Red and White Kop). (http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/) With over 2 million posts, it proves that SMF works well under extreme conditions :) My board's not exactly small, and SMF does well under it also.

As for the converter, I'm sorry but I'm not sure.

The convertor is prefectly fine with older versions of phpBB as there hasn't been any db structure changes in phpBB 2.x
