Just installed it on my test board and love it. Now, how do I change the news fader and "New Posts No New Posts" boxes to use catbg or another color instead of titlebg? It just looks out of place that way.

Does anyone know if this theme works with Beta 6? I've been resisting upgrading my main SMF test forum because I've got this theme and the Spaceman theme installed and don't want to lose those...

Post by: JKaizer on August 14, 2004, 02:18:24 PM
Err, I see that the theme has been updated for RC1... so yay!  One of my favorite themes has been upgraded! ^-^

I'm just wondering if there is a way of fixing the avatar cut-off at the top.  My members love the theme except for this bit, and they seem to complain a lot about it...

Is it possible so that the avatar wouldn't get cut off? O.o

Post by: Falcon4™ on August 14, 2004, 05:37:45 PM
I've tweaked this theme to work with my forum (another guy that's resisting an upgrade, mainly for all the code edits I've done!), and I got the avatars in the header working pretty well, I think. It's pretty complicated to edit (editing image files, rearranging some code), but it now shows full avatars. If you're really interested, let me know (via PM, probably, I may never see this topic again), and I'll go through it...

I love the longhorn theme - it's by far my favourite theme for SMF - but since I changed to RC1 - it seems to be a bit out of shape....to wide and the font is too big for the forums. How do i fix this?

Edit - duh - I never downloaded to new theme - lovin it lovin it lovin it ;D

A.M.A, just installed this theme, it looks very nice, clean and sharp. Thanks.
how can I add a header on top of the board where I can use a logo, and a left column so to add navigation buttons and links to the rest of the site?
Thank you.
One more thing, I have news enabled, and when there is morea than one line of news, the new header gets horizontal lines in it, is there a way to not have those lines in the news header?

in index.template.php look for:

- logo
// The logo and the user info.
echo '
<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%">
and add your logo right after ( echo ' )

- left column
// The main content should go here.  A table is used because IE 6 just can't handle a div.
echo '
<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr>
<td style="background-color: #D3DDE4; padding: 1ex 20px 2ex 20px;">';
and replace it with:
// The main content should go here.  A table is used because IE 6 just can't handle a div.
echo '
<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0"><tr>
                <td> add you left menu in here! </td>
<td valign="top" style="background-color: #D3DDE4; padding: 1ex 20px 2ex 20px;">';

replace (add you left menu in here!) with your navigation menu codes.

- news
<td width="100%" background="', $settings['images_url'], '/menu_md.gif">', $context['random_news_line'], ' and replace it with:
<td width="100%" background="', $settings['images_url'], '/menu_md.gif"><div style="height: 15px; overflow: auto; padding: 5px;" class="smalltext">', $context['random_news_line'], '</div>

I've been using this theme for a while as the default for one of my forums.

I noticed today, that the theme does not validate when you attempt to validate it.

Seeing that you have a newer version, have you corrected the validation issues in the current release?

Just checking before I go through removing and reloading the theme again.

This theme is being used on a Disability forum and validation is very important.

<div style="float: left; width: 50%;">', $txt[490], ': <b>', $modSettings['totalTopics'], '</b></div>', $txt[94], ' ', $txt[95], ': <b>', $modSettings['totalMessages'], '</b><br />', !empty($context['latest_post']) ? '
replace with:
<div style="float: left; width: 50%;">', $txt[490], ': <b>', $modSettings['totalTopics'], '</b></div>', $txt[489], ': <b>', $modSettings['totalMessages'], '</b><br />', !empty($context['latest_post']) ? '

', $txt[94], ' ', $txt[19], ': <b><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=mlist">', $modSettings['memberCount'], '</a></b><br />

I am using this theme on SMF V1.0.8 but I want to upgrade to 1.1 rc2

Will there be an updated version of the theme, or is there something I can do myself to modify it to work with the upgraded SMF? I really really want to keep this theme if it's possible.
