Hey. I am doing all of this on localhost on my pc for practice, but i keep getting strange things happen whenever i upgrade.
I converted from phpbb 2.0.17 to smf 1.0.7 (as this was the only converter i could find at the time. This went absolutely fine, so i tried to upgrade from smf 1.0.7 to smf 1.1.rc2. After problems of the "LogTime" kept erroring, i came back on here and found the answer (to edit an update file) and it all worked fine.
BUT, now i have another problem! >:(
The upgrade works fine, nothing goes wrong at all, BUT when i browse the main index of my forum now, there are two forums named INDEX PAGE and MEMBER PAGE in place of two forums which should be named something else. Whats even worse, is they don't show up in the admin 'manage boards' section, so i cannot edit the names or anything..
Help?
Can you give us a link?
I can't, as its on my own PC (not connected to the internet) using xampp for the php.
Ok, then can you try to detect their board IDs? The ID numbers can be seen at the end of their URLs.
What happens when you try to enter these boards?
Do they include any topics and posts?
Are the ID numbers similar to the ones in your phpBB installation?
Have you tried Admin > Forum maintenance > Fix Errors?
The ID's are 14 & 15, the last two ID's on my forum. When i enter them i see topics and replies as i would normally entering another forum, Only difference is that they don't show up on the admin 'manage board' feature and are labelled INDEX PAGE and MEMBER PAGE.
No i havent tried fix errors, i will go try this now :)
hahaha, ya know what, it fixed it! :-*
I hadn't even thought of clicking that, it said a number of posts were 'wrong' or 'contained errors', so i fixed it, and all of a sudden under the admin manage boards section, the INDEX PAGE and MEMBERS PAGE was available to edit! Horray! ;D :D
Cheers for your help :D ;)
