Ok, this is an advanced preview of my new theme pondlife, before anyone says i will work on padding soon.
All comments welcome.

P.S its hard to make a light coloured theme
There's no contrast whatsoever on the link color. It might be a good idea to use a tool like the Colour Contrast Analyser (http://juicystudio.com/services/colourcontrast.php#specify)to determine if a color is readable.
But not a bad beginning :)

Thanks for the link, to be honest ive not looked at the links etc yet, workingf on the graphics first :)
Ive just updated the on, off etc images.
It's got alot of jagged edges. Like the angled corners and the stroke arround the text at the top mainly. That and maybe reduce the strength of the gradient bars a little.
There's a slight problem with flexibility in the header, the upper-right corner gets swallowed if the browser window isn't big enough. I expect you could use a couple of extra divs to work around it, if it matters. A subtle bottom border would be helpful to separate some things. Nice look, though.
its not at all professional theme

its not at all professional theme
number 1 its not finished and number 2 its not ment to look professional
I have made some minor but noticeable changes to the theme
Not bad. I like the corner border effect you got going and the catbg. Nice job. :)
I changed the title of the thread, it was annoying me.
Thanks tipp :)
I have updated it once again more of a noticable change
Looking better. The lack of different colors was the one concern of mine that seems to have been fixed. :)
OK: real comments now
If you're already planning on fixing this stuff dont listen to me.
The green gradient on top of the cells in board index looks really cool. Good job on that. BUT, that only looks good when it's under the catbg gradient. Keep it first board in a category only. Same for message index, first topic only.
Try putting alternating greens for windowbg and windowbg2.
The hover on display.template is not really a good idea. When youre navigating through boards or messages it is.
The header is a little goofy, the centered user info just floaitng up there. Put them in a nice table (that looks different from the other tables in the theme. New graphics and new gradients). The navigation should have some kind of background too.
The frog on/off icons dont work. Maybe try bubbles. Blue ones will add a new color and will help out the contrast.
I see a 1px blue line above the first board in the board index in each category. get rid of that. Opera 9.0 here
The header that says "simple machines" is choppy and just looks...terrible. Dont make it have a transparent background, put it on the header background.
It's a really good concept and the catbg's and the top portion of the windowbg's look great together, almost like a defined shadow.

Thanks tipp, its taken me a while to go through this list but I do agree on it. my one question though is

how would i go about doing this?
Count the outputs and use an if statement to determine what number is. Thantos showed me how for one of my themes..
replace the foreach with:
$i = 0;
foreach ($category['boards'] as $board)
{
$i++;
then this is an if statement, if it's the first board in the category its true. You can use it to specify the right class.
' , ($i == 1) ? 'first categroy' : '' , '
thanks tipp ill work on it soon still trying to get pc in shape
tipp I have
<table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="5" class="bodyarea" style="margin-top: 1px;">';
/* Each board in each category's boards has:
new (is it new?), id, name, description, moderators (see below), link_moderators (just a list.),
children (see below.), link_children (easier to use.), children_new (are they new?),
topics (# of), posts (# of), link, href, and last_post. (see below.) */
$i = 0;
foreach ($category['boards'] as $board)
{
$i++;
echo '
<tr>
<td ' , !empty($board['children']) ? 'rowspan="2"' : '' , ' width="6%" align="center" class="iback" valign="top"><a href="', $scripturl, '?action=unread;board=', $board['id'], '.0">';
im kinda getting confused
Looks nice, but the edges can use a little anti-aliasing! :)
im afraid unless i make new images the border images wont be touched, i had to format my pc and as the error orcurred as I started up I never had time or chance to backup :(( s thanks though forsaken
