Otsikko: Upgrading from 1.1RC2 to 1.1 Final, will there be issues?
Kirjoitti: Fiery - elokuu 02, 2006, 09:45:57 IP
Hello,

I dont know if you will be able to answer this or not yet (as 1.1 final is not done yet).

But should the mods that worked for 1.1RC2 work for 1.1final (I know its a general statement).

I dont know if that is a stupid question or not, as I know very little about php or how SMF actually works.

Basically I am wondering if I upgrade to 1.1RC2 will I have any upgrade issues with mods etc. when I go to 1.1final.

Thanks,

Brian

That depends on the nature of the mods. SMF 1.1 RC3 (which will be released very soon) won't be very different from SMF 1.1 final, but SMF 1.1 RC2 is quite different from SMF 1.1 RC3, since SMF 1.1 RC2 doesn't support the UTF-8 character set, and RC3 does. So if you're upgrading to RC2, I'd advice you to wait a little longer, until RC3 is released. :)
