Hello,
Pardon me if this has been answered, I did actually use search to try and find it but couldnt find exactly what I was attempting to find......
On my forums main index page, there is a box at the top of the index page that says simple, "News" and it contains the information that I input in the admin panel under the "forum news" section.
What I would like to do is to have this show up on every page, every thread etc throughout my entire forum.
I use this to notify users of certain goings on, perhaps the forum going offline etc so it would be helpfull if it was on every single page instead of just the index page.
Can this be done, if so how? What would I need to edit to accomplish this.
Thanks in advance,
Admin > Current theme > Enable News? That will enable the news on top but not the news fader.
Yeah, thanks. I was attempting to get the newsfader to show on each forum page so that it could rotate the messages and or insert an advert every 10 messages or so.
maybe the Ads Mod (http://mods.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=255) is what you want?

Thanks, but the one that is available for me doesnt seem to give me the option of multiple banners. Im still using 1.07 of the forum so it seems I have to use the older mod of that and it doesnt seem to have a way of adding multiple banner ads that I can find from reading the instructions.
I think it should be real simple to just make the news fader show up on all of the sites pages, including the forum threads but hey, what do I know.

If you install phpAdsNew, you can use the Ad Management mod to display the JavaScript code that phpAdsNew generates and let phpAdsNew take care of the multiple banner rotation.
phpAdsNew is at http://phpadsnew.com (http://phpadsnew.com).

...Also, you shouldn't rely on the news tickler to ensure that everyone will read your information. If you go to the top of this topic where it shows your user information, there is a '-' sign button in the right corner next to the date and time. If your member clicks that, it will collapse that information section and set a cookie on their computer so it won't show up anymore until they choose to expand it again.
You can disable this feature by reading the post at http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=103857.0 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=103857.0). But use caution!! The instructions in this post are for version 1.1RC2. Ask the team member who provided the instructions for your version.
Hope this helps.
Daniel.
Yes, that does help quite a bit. I've used phpadsnew on other sites that I've done and completely forgot about that. That indeed seems the way to allow me to use the ad mod to just insert the phpadsnew coding where I want it to show up and let phpadsnew do the actual handling of the ads and or community messages I may want to put up.
