I'm trying to change the link colors to my forums. I edited the link colors in the style.css file, but when I upload it, the link colors still show up as the generic blue and purple colors. Is there some step I'm missing? Do I need to change something in the php as well?
Here is an example of my changes...
/* Navigation links - for the link tree. */
.nav , .nav: link , .nav: visited
{
color: #666699;
text-decoration: none;
}
a.nav: hover
{
font-weight: bold;
color: #666699;
text-decoration: underline;
}
The links still show up as the default blue and purple even after I have uploaded the modified style sheet.
Any help would be great, thanks.
Do you want to change the normal links? Try changing these:
/* Normal, standard links. */
a:link
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover
{
text-decoration: underline;
}
Yeah, I had those changed too, but I didnt post that section of the css in my original question.
I tried changing all the link colors in the css, but when I upload it and view it on my forum the colors still show up as the default blue (non-visited link) and purple (visited link). I tried emptying the internet exployer catch/files/cookies to see if that was the problem, but after doing so the default link colors still show.
Please note that I'm modifing the SMF default template that comes with 1.0.7. Does that make a difference?
To help clarify further, the following is the css code I have uploaded. I have all the link colors set to red. But, if you go to my forum site http://www.ogre-reader.com/forums (http://www.ogre-reader.com/forums) it still shows up as blue and purple colors.
Heres the code...
/* Normal, standard links. */
a: link
{ color: #FF0000;
text-decoration: underline }
a: visited , a: hover
{
color: #FF0000;
text-decoration: underline;
}
/* Navigation links - for the link tree. */
.nav , .nav: link , .nav: visited
{
color: #FF0000;
text-decoration: none;
}
a.nav: hover
{
font-weight: bold;
color: #FF0000;
text-decoration: underline;
}

What theme are you using as the default theme? Make sure you edit the style.css that is in that theme folder.
I only have the smf classic and default themes. I'm editing the smf default theme for use with my forum. I have edited the style.css file within that default theme.

Do you want to change the normal links? Try changing these:
/* Normal, standard links. */
a:link
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited
{
color: #476C8E;
text-decoration: none;
}
a:hover
{
text-decoration: underline;
}
Ok, I cut and pasted this over the same part in my other style.css and now its working. Hah! I must have had my old file setup wrong. Thanks Xenovanis! My link colors are working correctly now.
