Otsikko: Header Logo problems using Helios Multicolor theme
Kirjoitti: Linda-Blair-Lover - elokuu 09, 2006, 01:59:18 IP
First, I want to say how much I love using SMF! :D

I already posted something about this, but I think I accidently posted the topic in the wrong place. I really need some help. :'(

I need some help with changing the link on my Header Logo. I'm using the Helios Multicolor theme. I want to make the Header Logo that I recently added, link users to my web site's homepage when they click on it. Right now, when you click on the Header Logo it just takes you back to the forums index.php. (The main page of the forum) Everytime I try changing the URL on the Header Logo to direct to my web site's homepage it merges the default index.php URL with my web site's URL. This results in a Oops! Url not found or whatever, when you click on it. Then I have to change it back to the way I had it.

There must be a simple way that I can change this so the Logo won't keep linking to the index.php
Someone please help me I'm desperate! :(

open index.template.php

find:

echo '<a href="index.php"><img src="'.$settings['userlogo'].'" border="0" alt="logo" /></a>';

and change index.php to http://www.yourhomepage.com to look like

echo '<a href="http://www.yourhomepage.com"><img src="'.$settings['userlogo'].'" border="0" alt="logo" /></a>';

you can also add image title, something like title="Back to Homepage"

echo '<a href="http://www.yourhomepage.com"><img src="'.$settings['userlogo'].'" border="0" title="Back to hompage" alt="logo" /></a>';

When I do this^ it combines the original index.php URL and My Web site's URL together into one giant URL link which is of course a dead link.

For example: http:www. my forums name/forum/index.php/my web site's name .com

Naturally when it combines the two links together into one URL it isn't going to work. Why is it doing this?

I must need to change a setting somewhere else along with what you said to do in the above post.

How can I get rid of the index.php URL all togeter and simply have the userlogo link to my website's homepage instead?

find

        if(isset($settings['userlogo']) && !empty($settings['userlogo']))
               echo '<a href="index.php"><img src="'.$settings['userlogo'].'" border="0" alt="logo" /></a>';

replace with

             echo '<a href="http://www.yourwebsite.com"><img src="logosource" border="0" alt="logo" /></a>';
