Hello
Just wanted to know if removing Powered by SMF1.1rc2 is ok or not?
No it is not. You may remove the version information so it'll read "Powered by SMF". Search the forum for how to do so.
Ya, because removing the version no will probably keep the
hackers guessing, as to what version we r using.
No it won't if anything you will just get more attention since if you hide the version number, they will assume it's because you are not upto date.

lol... So I am better off showing the hacker that I got an old version and that I am a potentian victim ?
Lol. ok I shall leave it as it is. :D
No major vulnerabilities exist in recent versions of the base forums. The worst was a possible SQL injection in 1.0.4 and below.

No, you are better off updating as and when an update comes out, it takes about 10 seconds since updates are available in package manager format directly from your admin area.
