I tried to upgrade my forum to 1.1 RC2
it says there is a database error. And when i try to run the upgrade.php file it says i have outdated or old languages.
What should i do?
also, how do i restore my backed up files?
Try uploading the files from the upgradepackage again. Do you have any other languages installed besides english?
i've uploaded them like three times now.
no, i dont think i have any others installed.
You can see if there are other languages in the /Themes/default/languages directory. If you keep getting this errors, it might be worth it trying another ftp-client. Something is definately wrong with the uploaded files.
yeah, i got in and fixed it.
How do i restore the tables and stuff i backed up before i upgraded?

I got it done (which should re-add TinyPortal i do believe) but it didnt. and it wont let me add mods cause it says "cant load 'ftp_required' template"
Wait.. you upgraded to 1.1RC2 and now you have restored your 1.0.7 database? That will never work.
duh.... that was a dumb move.
is there a way to un-restore it? Cause now it says- "Unknown column 'a.attachmentType' in 'field list'" and nothing else and i cant get passed it (unless you arent logged in)
You need to run the upgradescript again. After the upgrade, you'll need to reinstall your mods. There is no way of getting them back any other way.
it wont let me reinstall them. It says "cant load 'ftp_required' template" when i try to.
and i cant edit membergroups and many other things either (this is after the upgrade)
Try uploading all files from the upgradepackage again and run upgrade again. If this happens again, upload the /Themes directory again. One or more files were corrupted during the upload.
i've done all of this like 5 times. Why cant you guys just make a system that works the first time?
The system works the first time. When you mix versions, it goes splat (but you can't expect different).
I recommend you grab the install package, delete the files in the Themes/default folder on the server, then upload the ones from the install package.
I never experienced any problems uploading. This is either a serverissue or a problem with your ftp-client.
